About Bangladeshi Newspapers

Newspaper is a moving mirror on the world we live in. The word “News” belongs to N for North, E for East, W for West, S for South. So, it’s meant that information or data from all over the world is known as news.  Through reading news paper, one can acquire all the important news at a glance.

A newspaper can help a reader in many ways. It can provide the extra knowledge about the world people and their customs and cultures. Newspaper sharpens intellect and makes one curious to know about the world outside. Newspaper plays a vital role in the life of human being. To ignore newspaper is like keeping our eyes shut. In Bangladesh newspapers usually released are written either in Bengali or English.

 If we take a look back in history at April 1818 the first bengali newspaper 'DIGDARSHAN' published which was monthly and published by missionaries. People most often told about the 'SAMACHAR DARPAN' was actually second newspaper published by same missionaries at May 1818 from Calcutta and it was a weekly newspaper.

  In Bangladesh there are many types of newspaper. Some are daily, some are weekly, some are monthly and some of them are yearly also. Everyday a huge amount of newspapers publish all over the country, this type of newspaper known as daily newspaper. Some of the famous dailies are Daily Prothom Alo, Daily Naya Diganta, Daily Jugantor, Daily Amar Desh, Daily Amader Somoy, Daily Amader Orthoniti, Daily Ajkaler Khobo, Daily Dinkal etc. There are also some English dailies also like  The Bangladesh Today, Daily Prime News, The Daily Star, Daily Sun, The Independent, New Age etc.

There are many weekly and monthly magazines those covered local and international news of politics, sports, finance, technology, travel, agriculture, showbiz, opinion poll, business and more for the nation and world news. Like, Ananda Alo, Ananda Bazar, Akhon Samoy, Anannya, Bangladesher Khela, Colors of Bangladesh, Dhaka Post, Dhaka Courier, Deshiboi, Energy Bangla, Ekattor, HolidayKhaborer, Antorale, Kishore Tarokalok, Kagoj, Monitor, Musafeer, Monthly MeghBarta, Monthly Porshi, Probash, Probe News Magazine, Robber, Shaptahik 2000, Sonar Bangladesh Magazine, Tarokalok, Vinnomot, Weekly 2000, Weekly Ekhon, Weekly Jaijaidin, Weekly Deshbarta etc.

So this are the list of Bangladeshi newspaper and magazine. Lastly, newspaper not only reflects what is happening but also tells us why it is happening. Sometimes newspaper biased and false news and comments and thus misleads the readers. One should not, however, be blindly influenced by these comments. It is important for a reader not to rely entirely on what he reads in newspaper. Every reader should judge for himself the value of what newspaper tells him.
